[About] The Photographer

Behind the Lens

Captured By Chakras is a portrait and event practice built on one stubborn idea: a photograph should feel like something, not just document that something happened.

Portrait of the photographer behind Captured By Chakras

Light, patience,
and one honest frame

I started photographing people because I was tired of seeing them disappear in their own pictures, flattened by hard flash, arranged into poses nobody holds in real life, smiling on a count of three. The work here is the opposite of that. Darker, slower, and much more like the person actually is.

Most of what I shoot happens in difficult light: late evenings, dim venues, the last twenty minutes before the sun goes. That's deliberate. Low light is where faces get interesting, and it's where most cameras and most photographers give up.

Sessions are unhurried and genuinely collaborative. You'll be directed when you need it and left alone when you don't. Nobody has to be good in front of a camera; that's my job, not yours.

[02] Before You Book

I hate being photographed. Is that a problem?

It's the most common thing anyone tells me, and no. Almost nobody is comfortable for the first ten minutes. We start slow, you get a coffee, and I shoot while we're still talking, and those early frames are usually the ones people end up choosing.

What should I wear?

Solid colours and textures photograph better than busy patterns, and darker tones sit well with how I edit. Bring two or three options and we'll decide together on the day. We'll cover this properly on the planning call before your shoot.

How long until I get the photos?

Portrait galleries are typically delivered within two weeks. Events within three, with a preview set of highlights inside 48 hours so you have something to share straight away.

Do you travel?

Yes. Based in London and available worldwide. Travel beyond the city is charged at cost and agreed up front, never added afterwards.

How do I secure a date?

Send an enquiry with your date and I'll confirm availability within 24 hours. A deposit holds the slot; the balance is due after delivery. Dates are held on a first-confirmed basis, so earlier is better for weekends and summer.

Can I use the images for my business?

Yes. Personal use is included with every session, and commercial usage licences for brand, editorial and advertising work are available. Just mention it in your enquiry so it's priced in from the start.
